Community Care Systems’ Elizabeth Friese named Care Coordinator of the Year

Elizabeth Friese, with Community Care Systems of Shelbyville, was named Care Coordinator of the Year by the Illinois Council of Case Coordination Units.

Elizabeth Friese, of Community Care Systems’ Shelbyville office is a Supervisor and Care Manager for Cumberland and Shelby Counties but can be found in any of the four counties when there is a need. She is a true leader and shares her wealth of knowledge with peers to ensure participants are assessed in a timely manner. She is not afraid to pick up and do what is needed to get the work done. Her peers look to her for guidance and respect her decisions. Supervisors can count on Elizabeth to represent the agency with professionalism at various meetings and health fairs. She has a gift of working with the most challenging participants and families and always remains calm, courteous, and respectful of their situation. Recently, Elizabeth took on a very difficult situation and made a difference in one participant’s life. She advocated for the participant with other service providers, encouraged him to accept assistance, and care- managed his needs even when he was homeless. She has an upbeat attitude and remains positive when someone is struggling.
